Whether it's about the everyday stresses of family life, such as screentime overload, the working parent "juggle", or step parenting, or relates to navigating major change - perhaps the arrival of a new sibling, divorce, or choosing the right school, I can help you find fresh insights and approaches.

I can also assist you with your career and work issues: be that career progression and objective setting, colleague or management problems or imposter syndrome.

As a qualified coach, having achieved the triple-accredited (ICF, CA and EMCC) Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching qualification at Henley Business School (part of the University of Reading), I follow the ICF Code of Ethics. All sessions are completely confidential.

Combining almost a decade's management consultancy experience at the likes of Accenture and KPMG, five years in a corporate comms role at a FTSE100 company and 20 years as a parenting writer and commentator, I'm uniquely qualified to help you tackle the challenges of being a working parent.

Issues we can work on together include:

  • Managing ‘the working parent juggle’: finding time, prioritising and dropping the guilt

  • Navigating the return to work after maternity leave, including choosing childcare

  • Who’s doing what at home: splitting the family workload and chores more productively and constructively

  • Approaching life milestones and changes e.g. children starting nursery, school, university or leaving home

  • Scheduling and life organisation

  • Dealing with digital overload: managing your own and your children’s screen time better

  • Parenting through separation or divorce

  • Losing the imposter syndrome: at home and work

  • Changing careers.

I also offer programmes designed around some of the most common issues faced by working parents (note that the number of sessions can be tailored to your needs):

Rebalancing roles at home with your partner (3 or 6 sessions)

Our focus together can include: understanding each others’ perspectives, feeling heard in your relationships at home and work, adjusting workloads where needed and tackling ongoing difficult conversations more positively together. You’ll come away able to focus on work and family better with less stress.

Identifying or reassessing your parenting strategy (3 sessions)

Our focus together can include: what kind of parent do you want to be in the coming years? What can you do to help your child grow into a happy, well-functioning adult? You’ll walk away with a pro-actively thought through assessment of what matters most to you as a parent and how you want to approach parenting, no matter what age your child currently is.

Finding a better family screen life balance: (3 or 6 sessions)

Reducing screen overload for all of the family, including potential digital detox, resetting screen rules and creating a more positive conversation around tech use with your children. We’ll take a realistic approach acknowledging that you probably need to be online outside of normal office hours at times.

Making big family decisions (choosing childcare/schools/supporting university decisions/moving location or country) packages (3 sessions):

Considering what’s important for you and your child/family, making the most of research and visits, making final decisions.

The empty nest package (3 sessions)

Managing the transition of your child leaving home, its impact on you, them and your relationships, plus planning a new phase of your own life.

The parenting through divorce package (6 sessions)

Sharing the news of your separation with your child, managing the transition to shared care and co-parenting, dealing with stress.
